Check to make sure your struts are good and replace as needed. And a good progressive sping would probably be what you want. I'm looking at eibach but haven't tried anything yet. Good Luck.

A set of four aftermarket springs which are slighty tighter than stock will run you $220-250 for the set. Strut inserts for the front and struts for the rear are about $50-70 per corner depending on the quality of them.

Just get the Tokico HP package, it includes all four struts and all four lowering springs. You will be happy.

Yes, I got that package for about $380 shipped and it lowered my car about 1.5". I think its only supposed to be a 1" drop but the 2+2 is a little heavier. Anyway, I love it and it is definitly worth the money.

I never thought of that if you want a lower 2+2 buy coupe springs, thats pretty smart... Too bad I have a coupe, wait no it isnt..

Nobody makes 2+2 springs anyway.
I doubt an extra 150 pounds in the rear is going to lower the car a half inch all the way around on springs that are tighter than stock. If it lowered it that much front and rear you've got something else that is different or messed up on your car.... or the kit was made to lower it 1.5"

Well, I never measured it personally. I was just going on what I read somewhere online. Thanks for the correction.

DTD888, where did you get the Tokico Package? The price seems better than buying the springs and shocks separately. Are the shocks as good as the ones Tokico offers separately? I'm setting up for autox and need to replace my 25 year old shocks and springs anyway, but want some that are suitable for autox. My suspension is really sloppy now. I prefer a very firm ride but not one that gets too squirley on our rough California roads since the car, for now, must double as a daily driver.

Runningonempty, I think I bought mine off ebay. I go the Tokico HPs because they were cheaper but you could also buy the Tokico Illuminas which are 5-way adjustable. That way you can tighten them for the track and loosen them for the street. The package deal should be the same as the seperate ones just they don't include springs. With the HPs the ride can get a little rough on bad pavement but not horrible, you would probably be fine.

Jerkif, you could alway just buy the Tokico struts and use the stock springs. That way you will have a much better ride while still sustaining the stock ride height.

DTD888. thanks for the reply. I'll go with the Illuminas if they offer a setting that is stiffer than the non-adjustables. How tough is the installation? I have the FSM, but their explanation wasn't, for me, too clear. It can't be rocket science, can it? I know I'll need a spring compressor. That's no problem.

Anyway, thanks again.

Yep, and if you end up getting lowering springs then you dont even need a compressor.
