Steering shake...
Steering shake...
I have developed a wicked shake in the steering and I'm going to rip into it this afternoon.
Things I'm looking for: Warped rotors, unbalanced tires (pressure is ok I checked), bent stuff that doesn't need to be bent...the usual suspects.
The thing that is getting me all wierded out is the audible "clunk" and feel when I start to turn the steering wheel. Any ideas what that could be?

The ZX steering wheel shake is a common problem.
Still could be tie rod ends, or the steering rack mounting bushings.
I replaced wheels, tires, and rotors and that cut down on the shake considerably but it is still there a little.

I've been real lucky with the tires I've had for 3 years now. they're "Road Hugger Radial GTs". Only about $400 for 4 mounted from Discount. Kinda tight finances at the time, but these have actually been good tires for stock rims...
^ Word. I've got a set as well, but they cost me nothing, and came off my old Pontiac Grand Am 'rally car'.
What size Huggers are you running, Carl? I've got 215/60-14s, and they're nice and bulgy, all muscle-car like.

Only clearance problems I've ever had with my RoadHuggers on the 6-spokers, is when I have them on my Rx7.
I'm looking at a friends' set of 14x7 Konig Rewinds [painted bright red!], now that I know I can get 235s for them, I'm set.

That's what I have on the front. These tires have been on that car for over 10 years.
