Drivers side hit the medium and bent wheel back 3/4 inch. I'm told Tie rods bent and guessing control arm is too. Just bought the car and haven't seen it except for pics. Yhea yhea... but it runs has 80K on it new tires, looks good and I paid 300 bucks. The girl said she took something off and kept the parts. Could be a turbo or nitro system.

How can I tell if this was a turbo. And special Vin numbers?

 

Does the Valve cover say Turbo? Or, in the VIN it should read JN1CZ0####### Thats turbo. If it reads JN1HZ0####### Thats non turbo. If it's a pre 81 vehicle those didn't come with a turbo at all and those VINS will look like Greek to you if your car is a 79 or 80

 

If the VIN starts with JN1 C it's a turbo.

If it starts with JN1 H it's a non-turbo.

If she took the turbo system off, you probably would notice.

 

It's a 1979 model HS1 so that takes care of that. I haven't actually gone out to look at the car yet. Just grabbed it cause I know the girl and what happened to the car.
