Dude, is that thing a Black/Gold??? I can't really tell from the pics but it looks like one from what I can see. If so, it could be worth some $$$$.

Yeah they are full of it. Besides they don't come stock with headers. Their called an exhaust manifold! Headers are sweet, I think, except when you have to change a gasket! I want to get Monza headers on my '82 280zx. I have them on my '83 Celica. And I love the sound they make! Not too loud just the right humming tone!

The only downside to headers is cracking. Most don't have the durability of a cast manifold. Headers are great though, just get a quality brand to save you on headaches. IF you go cheap on headers you'll end up paying for it in welding costs! This knowledge is based on my experience with another vehicle I've owned, so I don't which ones are good for the Z. Always ask around about something like a header before you buy, and see who's had trouble with what brand. Fitment can be a bitch too, not all headers just bolt up like their supposed to. Just a few words of advice

yikes... marines are no joke dude... I hope you don't go crazy like the rest of them. Just think of your Z while you're there....

no experience with headers on 280's... I've seen some called Patriots on Ebay for pretty cheap... anyone know about these?
