Exclamation master cylinder update 79 s130

ok so, no 79-81 brake master cylinders available
checked rockauto, nissanpartszone, MSA, carpartsshed, all listed as available, I ordered from each place and they emailed saying nissan discontinued the part and that they actually don't have it
anyone know where I can get one
or there is a posting on ebay for one without the reservoirs-will the original reservoirs fit this part?
like to avoid spending 300 if I can

this is my daily driver so I kinda would like to fix the leak

Yep. Same goes for the 79-81 rear brakes... rebuild kits are nla.

I suggest upgrading the booster and master to the 82-83 setup...

hmm ok, ideas on how big a job that would be?
Im trying to get this done before we move to boise at the end of this month.
And I don't really want to drive it 500 miles on a leaking master cyl.
There is a Z mechanic that I go to in boise for the long hard jobs (tranny replacement etc)
should I just have him do it?

It's a piece of cake job. The hardest part is bleeding the system afterwards. The only other difficult part is getting under the dash to remove the cotter pin holding the pedal plunger to the booster.

Just disconnect, remove, install new, fill fluid, bleed, drive happy. Make sure you soak the brake line connections to the master w/ PB Blaster before loosening them.

And unless you have a monster leak (like squirting fluid at every stop), a quick road trip should be fine (take a bottle of brake fluid just in case). You can always downshift to slow down too.
