Hi all,

My 280zx was stolen sometime early morning Monday night / Tuesday morning. It's blue with a silver hood and it has T-tops. It was stolen from Fremont. CA licence place 2TFE465. It has an NRA and AAA bumperstickers on the rear right corner of the rear bumber

Hey! It looks ilke lessthanjabo has your car! But seriously, I'm in the East Bay and I always keep an eye out for the old Z's. Was there anything of value that would've made it a candidate to steal? (ie turbo model)

Hi Guys,

Yep it looks just like the Blue and Silver with the Blue interior...silver headliner...mine has T-tops though...I just love the Z cars. It was just a stock Z and clean looking. It does have some damage to the drivers side front fender...I bought it like that. If anyone sees it send me an email and I'll send you my cell number. Here are some pics on attachment.

Next time, if you don't get an alarm system, you should consider some security measures like a kill switch, or taking the ignition coil wire with you when you leave.

Hey man, Sorry to hear about your Z. Back in October some spinless little bastards stole my Z right out of my driveway in the middle of the night. 5 days later it was found with no wheels, no tires, no stereo, all my CD's were gone, the interior was trashed, the right front fender was all buggered up... and no sign of forced entry what so ever. It was my fault. I knew I should have had an alarm in it. I just thought that only an idiot would steal a car that stood out like a sore thumb (all black, 17 inch wheels, bright red calipers... slotted rotors blah blah blah). I should have known better. The truth is, that those old nissans and toyotas will open and start with almost any key you want to use. It's a known problem. Now my car has a seriously Gucci alarm system... as well as 4 new 17 inch wheels, tires etc... I'll keep an eye out down here in San Diego for your car. til then, Good luck.

Rod.

Manual hidden kill switches are the only way to go. That and add any alarm.

Sucks ***, man. I feel for you. Hopefully, you get your car back. It's a shame your car got jacked. Recently, this has been happening to the Rx7 community. Seems like every other week, there's someone posting on rx7city.com about their Rex being stolen. It's unlikely, but I'll keep an eye peeled out here. Not many 280ZXs around my neck of the woods, but I do know every one in a 70-mile radius. Best of luck to you on getting her back.

Hey man, any word on your car yet?
If not, just hang in there. I'll bet it gets found within about 4-5 miles from your house. I'll bet anything the little punks just took it for a joy ride and parked it somewhere out of sight. Usually it's in an appartment complex. You'll probably get a call when the management has it towed. Happens all the time. Just keep your chin up. Good luck.

When you get it, you can make a simple kill switch by simply splicing a switch into the power wire to the starter solenoid.

I did this on my '80 280ZX back in the day. You'll want to put the kill switch somewhere no one else would think to look. I've seen some pretty creative places.

I've had friends actually put the kill switch under the hood. You wouldn't even have a clue what it was unless you knew it. The drawback is that you have to pop your hood every time you want to activate or de-activate it.

On an old car, not many people will think twice about you having your hood open all the time though!! HAHAHA!

Good luck. I'll continue to keep my eyes out.

Sounds nice Dave, a silver one with t-tops. You have the American version of the Autobot Transformer Bluestreak! 5-speed too?
