83 280zx-prob. w/ auto trans not shifting
I have a 83 280zx non turbo auto that seems to have a transmission problem of not moving to a higher gear ratio to reduce rpm's. It drives really well, runs great, but just doesn't seem to be working quite right when it comes to the auto tranny. Any easy quick fixes without having to remove tranny?
The first and cheapest thing to do is verify the fluid level.
After that, a standard AT 'service' with fluid and filter change.
If it has fluid and it's still not building pressure or it's building pressure but not shifting, you probably need a rebuild to replace worn clutches, steels, seals, gaskets, and band.

Mahalo for the reply and info. will check fluid level and if that does not do it will take in for service.
