Not Nissan. It's off a Toyota truck and there's pages upon pages of info on this one all over this site and others. Just skim the suspension forum and you'll find what you're looking for.

Those should work! The experiment I did @ the junk yard was from an 87 4Runner... but the 79-84 is what everyone raves about. here's a couple web sites to check out:

http://www.biopatent.com/brakes.html

http://zhome.com/ZCMnL/tech/Calipers...aCalipers.html

(Highly esteemed Modern MS says to use 89 - 95 calipers)

Anyway... the only diff between the 240z & 280zx conversion, is that you need the wheel spacers to move the inner side of the rim out enough to not hit the outside face of the caliper.

parts stores). Usually, most aftermarketrims, and 15" Z rims will be able to be mounted without any spacers, youwill just have to check your particular rim to see exactly how much roomyou have. Just for reference, I have 14x6 280ZX six spoke aluminum rims, and I had no problems with clearance.
Once the tires are mounted, youare ready to head out to your favorite private testing facility! Now, yourcar may not stop like a Formula One car, but, with everything done properly, you should feel a noticeable difference in your Z's stopping ability. Goodluck!

i carefully read the 3 link that u sent me it went into better deatail onto how to do the conversion .,.. my only question was on the DUST SHEILD ? i have to use my high speed dremel to cut that away to make the 4 piston claiper fit right ?the one thing i couldnt understand was why unbolt the hub ? i know this would be a AWSOME time to repak the bearings.. witch im proud to say is eazier that what i thought ... =-) and the guy said his 14 inch wheelz cleared ? with no problems... and he goesi nto detail that 15 inch wheelz would be better ? am i right or wrong ?i really need to do this upgrade due to the fact i have a 4 month old son to worry about when hes inside the car with me thanks god i got a 2+2 !!!

um... this upgrade is for EXTREME BRAKING. Do you plan on crazy hot-rodding when your baby is onboard? The stock 280zx brakes are fine for normal driving, but for auto-x & the track, it's nice to have more grab. Concerning brakes, you are just as safe in the 280zx, than in any other car.

I don't think you need to trim the dust shield, but if you do, that's not a big deal. 14 & 15 inch rims I imagine will fit "diameter wise," but that's not the issue. The issue is moving the left tire out more to the left, and the right tire more out to the right.

Don't bother wasting your money on drilled, slotted or drilled & slotted rotors. They will actually reduce your stopping power on a typical street driven vehicle.

Get the cheap Brembo non-slotted or drilled rotors and you'll be good to go and avoid the marketing hype associated with drilled and slotted rotors and the commensurate markup that goes along with them.

How do you fit a rear-facing car seat in the back seat of a 280ZX? The front passenger seat won't fold forward enough, unless you don't have it locked down. It is illegal to put a child less than one year old in a forward facing seat.

Yes... I do like to drift. By "disassemble the rear diff" do you mean just taking it out of the car, or tearing into it & pulling out the carrier & gear? Hopefully the first...

To get it out of the car, you have to pop out the cv / half shafts. Then unbolt the 4 front bolts, then the 2 rear diff mount nuts. Then you should be able to squeeze it outta there. Since there are quite a few tight spots, I suggest using an air ratchet when possible.
