1983 2+2 N/A coilovers

I have a 1983 280zx 2+2 N/A and I'm trying to find coilovers to lower the car and get rid of the awful wheel gap. I've heard people saying that s13 rear coilovers are bolt on you just have to drill a third hole for the bolt on top and I'm just wondering if that's the case for the rear. I've also seen that techno toy tuning has a full front coilover conversion that bolts on for the 280zx and I just want to know if both of those would be the way to go.

Welcome to ZDriver!

Yes you can use S13 240SX rear coilovers. The S13's are 2 bolt mounts with a larger center nut, so if you want to use the S13 coilover hat which is shorter, then you'd need to drill another hole at the top of the rear strut tower and widen (use a hole saw) the center hole. OR just use the stock 280ZX strut hat.

The only "bolt on" front coilovers are made by Techno Toy Tuning:

Any other front option will require cutting, sectioning, and welding the stock front struts for perches and sleeves.

Here are two pics of my non-height-adjustable S13 Tein HR's (green) vs KYB struts with Eibach springs vs Raceland S13 fully adjustables (black). Notice I have the stock 280ZX strut hat on the top of the Racelands...
