hey guys i found a guy that sells white face guages for our cars

hey can even custom make stuff with logos and such. these guages are metric, so no help for most of us, just me, but i have contacted him, and waiting response aboot more guages than just that one. and they are not that expensive, currently at 30 usd.

 

they would work for me but, ehh. I don't know aboot white face ones...maybe i guess, do they have them for the 240z, perhaps?

i got more feedback from the guy, his name is chad. these just go overtop of the stock cluster, then if you want blue, all you have to do is put blue bulbs in the stock location. there is no headache and they need no mods to make them fit, they can be done in mph, or kph. im trying to work out a price. and it turns out he has a z too, i invited him to join us.

 

cool, that way i can sport kpm in both the zx and 240...i think i'm going to go full custom in the 240 and just order some autometer gauges or something...make that car super light racer style...but it has to have heat.

 

Hello Everyone im Chad Bird i just reciently became a owner of a 81 Datsun 280zx 2x2 5 speed i am also the owner of Northern Lites Customs White Face Guages i have been creating guages for 280Zx cars for over 3 years now and i would haft to say they are the top seller on ebay! And i always wonderd why so many people love there datsuns so much to buy gauges for them. I always knew datsuns were very unique cars so i basically started a search for one to have for myself for a nice Drifter or Autocross project car so one of my buddys told me he had one sittin But! he needed a car that runs ASAP for work and the datsun was not charging to 14 volts so i traded him a 4 dr 150$ escort wagon for his Datsun 280zx with a alabama title too CAR IS SOLID! fixed the broken alt bracket and BAM Burns them right into Third! pretty tight car i must say the car is a keeper i was gonna sell it on Ebay before i drove it, Not anymore.

i see some talk about my Z guages hopefully i will answer all the questions you guys might have!

If I got a set from you, and I wanted to do the blue display. Will it show up enough, and not so dim.? That is the one problem I have had with the white face gauges. I have gotten used to it, but it would be sweet to have more light showing through.

If You Want More Light Stick In Some Led's That Way You Can Do Diff Colors With A Switch.

if you want say blue, just type in led bulbs on ebay, there are many for good prices, 5 bucks for 2 bulbs, good quality ones. i will be doing the install with chads parts once i get a hold of him more, and the blue led setup, i will also be doing all my exterior lights with leds, it just seems right.

Reverse glow gauges are for riced out honda civics they are too gaudy to me and i dont think they last nearley as long as my gauges since they burn out within a year or so and not to mention all the weard ulgy switchs you need to screw into your dash and then run the wires all over gods creation!

Well I know i can make all you extreme guage enthusiast very happy! Im currently working on a kit "UpGrade" for the 280zx! It is a 7 color led OEM Bulb replacement Kit. basically you choose your gauge illumination between 7 colors! it is going to be very easy to install! we orderd a lot of 7 color SMD Leds so we plain on having at least 20 kits made within a month keep posted!

i love how that looks in the s30. the cut outs for the guages are perfect for swapping in new tachs speedos oil temp water temp all that ****. they are round i mean for gods sake. sorry emo. and it looks soo nice... but auto meter is cheap from what i hear.

if you are installing these overlays...make sure to sand off both sides of your stock gauges and make them nice and clean so the light can shine trough...if you dont sand both the sides it will be dimm. I have these and blue lightbulbs in the back looks not bad.
