slight leak in t-tops

Hi guys just got an 81 280zx and with all the rain we have been having I have noticed a slight leak in the T-top (I guess) on passenger side. As a result, the rug is wet which I am sure is not good for the floorboards. Is this a common problem and is there an easy fix?
thanks

try using some vasoline on the rubber seals around the top - see what happens

There is a "shim pack" at each end of the opening of the car. You will need to remove the a-pillar and b-pillar covers to get to them but remove the smallest shim and check for leaks. Do This until it stops leaking.

I should have started with "if it's the seal" because it could be a rust holwe or something at or under the seal. Let me know if you need pics, my headliner is out so they're easily seen on my car.

i fixed my t-tops this way and thought it was a fluke but i mentioned it to my friend and it fixed his as well. if you take care not to let the rubber fold under while u put the tops on u may stop the leak.my Z's previous owner complained of leaks for years but the first time i put the t tops back on myself it stopped (im pretty **** about how some stuff goes together). now if your seals are toast this wont really help u. but iv noticed the first place the seals start to mess up is on the corners (closest to you while putting them on) try holding them back out of the way while u put the top on. good luck to you, seals are not cheap

Thanks guys I'll check these things and see if it helps. Worked some vaseline into the rubber. Looks great and when I was doing it I noticed that aprt of it was pulled forward and the corner closest to the middle of the car needs gluing down.I think that will solve the problem. Any suggestions on types of glue. I was going to use Gorilla Glue...
Thanks again
