Side Skirts
Which style are on this ZX? The product pictures on the MSA site are too small to see anything :017:

So, if anybody's got any leftover side sections....:) |
oh, I missunderstood.
I thought you meant, "how big of an exhaust pipe can I hide under those (the car)" The plastic covers part of the curved in metal of the door. You can't hide anthing under them. They are barely lower than the car itself. You can fit up to a 4" pipe under the Z if you're not too low to the ground. |

Thanks Nismo, just put in an order for the rear bumper and side skirts. I've had the front one on for years

I've been thinking about that too. So far the finalists are late Dodge truck silver(has more pearl than most), Blue/Silver similar to factory design with a better silver, or, and this one is pulling away, the "Hyper Silver" that's used on wheels that's a 3 part process, and only available from overseas.(contains lead, the good part of it is it comes from party central, Sukumvit st in Bangkok Thailand) Check out the silver on some of the new wheels, and imagine your whole car in that...:)

You can never go wrong with white...........

Man you are not gonna need a 4" exhaust pipe. What setup are you running right now? If your runnin an N/A fuel injection setup you won't need more than a 2 1/2" pipe. For the turbo you won't need more than a 3". Fuel inj has to have some back pressure.
Theirs dump before the axle too. Just ran some #'s, looks like my options are a single 5", or 2 3.5~4". 4" is easier to deal with for me.(and NO, I'm NOT using left over Freightliner stuff...to heavy) |

Not sure about the 84's but you see that color on 90's - nice color. I doo like the color on your top pick. My first 83zx had that color (bought new). It's called jade/gray. It's best with the gary and black interior.
|
Definitely not white :078:

http://gallery.azmaximas.org/albums/album34/grey_3.jpg Oh yeah either a black or gray for your side skirts. And I agree about the gun metal also. |

Well, the guys that have been doing it are gaining from 30~80 hp by going from a 4" pipe to a 5" pipe, which kinda tends to suggest a 4" pipe won't be enough.

instead of 2 3.5" or 4" pipes, you should just stick with one pipe at 7" or 8"... i'd expect the same hp gains from 5 to 6 inches, 6 to 7 inches and 7 to 8 inches. with this in mind, you are looking at 120-320 hp increase with an 8" exhaust pipe.

Edit, actually, I was going to settle for one, as it would make all the power I figured I'd need, but then somebody shot their mouth off, and I changed my mind. |

A little bit of research and I've found a couple stock colors that fit the bill...
Unknown (but stock) color on this supra, looks good... http://gallery.azmaximas.org/albums/...08_G.sized.jpg Unknown color used on the ICON LX570 built for the SEMA show - I'm sure its a custom blend. http://gallery.azmaximas.org/albums/...sign.sized.jpg Very sexy Ferrari silver, I'm sure it would be very expensive to match. http://gallery.azmaximas.org/albums/...1024.sized.jpg VW Platinum Gray Mettallic. http://gallery.azmaximas.org/albums/...llic.sized.jpg Same as above.. it's a recent production color, so matching it should be no problem. http://gallery.azmaximas.org/albums/...3584.sized.jpg Acura Carbon Bronze Pearl looks pretty good too, I actually park next to one of these every day, and I like the color. http://modsgarage.com/images/2008TLS/TN_TL.png So I guess its between VW Platinum Gray Mettallic and Acura Carbon Bronze Pearl. Does anyone have other suggestions? Does anyone know what the color is on the 280ZX I posted above? I believe I pulled those photos off of here in the first place. |
im liking the dark silver metalics. i was thinking about painting mine something similar. or the pearly blue that infinity has for the G35 coupe. i used to hate the color of my 280zx, but its grown on me. its a brown glittery-metalic something... not sure if that was a stock color or if it was re-painted.
i also really like the (as i call it) "sun set" orange i see on some 350z's. i'm not sure what nissans name is for it, but it sure is pretty. |
Yeah its called Sunset Orange. I think it would look amazing on an S30 but not my choice for a ZX.
|
I've been thinking about gunmetal gray ever since I saw a Z06 on the freeway of this color:

Agreed on the wheels. I think that the 2 seater would look better if they painted the iron cross wheels with the original gold accent, or matched the paint.
The 4 seater is going to have to make that paint shine before it ever looks good. Speaking of which, anybody got any pics of the original gold Iron Cross wheels?? Just noticed that accent area isn't definitely defined by shape. |
Centerlines=coolness, I almost got a set for my Z, but they were 14's, and I want 15's lol
And I do like that color... I think that if I didn't like the blue on my car so much, I'd probably go with that color lol |
Not a fan of 2+2s, not a fan of ugly wheels, not a fan of repainting the car and then sticking the hideous faded black bumpers back on.. ahhh!
Nismo, that vette is sweet! Thinking of finally painting the primered beast? |
lol, you do know that he posted two different cars, right?
And I definitely have to disagree with you on the bumpers, I love the stock bumpers (although mine are in pretty good shape and not faded lol), but I do plan on shaving the bumpers and the license plate mounting flange off in the future... lol |
The dead giveaway on the 2cars is the missing rear signal lens on quarter panels of the 2+2, and the fact that the 2+2 is RHD.
I kind of agree with the faded bumpers. While the shape looks good on the car, repaint them black. Would look very nice. Also, does anyone know the name of the colour blue used on the new 370z? |
Monterey Blue
|
Anyone happen to know the paint code on that? Can't find it on any sites...
