A pillar Gauge Pod?

A pillar Gauge Pod?
Has anyone ever tried to put gauge pods on their a-pillar like this?
A pillar pods
I was thinking about trying to do this but wondered if anyone else had tried it before. I think it would look better if the pods were bondo together and sanded smooth. I wish they would make an A pillar pod for our cars!

I plan on making my own - if it's successful, I'd probably sell some for five bucks ...
I think either Dakota Digital or Lo-Teck makes pods for our applications, but I'm not sure. If they made them for my dad's '90 Dodge Dakota, there's good hope.
I've got a friend with those suction-cup gauge holders on his '93 300ZX-TT, and they look pretty sweet. Don't know what brand though, as he bought them off EBay.

THAT guy got a universal one and cut, fiberglassed and bondoed the whole thing with the trim.
This guy (below) I think bought the Z32 pillar mount and trimmed the mounting edges to be slightly more narrow...
