need carpet kits and/or dash

just got a 280zx '80

i need to replace the carpet/upholstery anyone know where a cheap place is to get that done is in southern california or a place to buy the kit so i can do it myself

i've seen a carpet kit for about 145$

and also a dash...i've seen them for about 65$ anyone know if there is a better price?

you can always bring your car to mexico for a weekend and get it done there... a whole lot cheaper and you can get it custom too... but if you want to do it yourself you can try www.zcarparts.com

thanks...how much is it to get fixed down there? est.

and if you don't mind.. how much did you pay for your stuff ( breakdown of what you had done down there) and how long did it take

well i live in the bay area and i pay a lot more then what you guys pay for in so cali.. i had my door panels re done for $85 each side.. the dash board i did myself.. i jsut bought a $60 full dash cap and painted it and glued that baby on.. the carpet kit i bought from MSA but thats gonna be the last time i buy something like that from them.. i paud about $170 for that and it started to fade.. you prolly can get a cheaper carpet kit from JC whitney.. and my seats... i bought those from a guy that worked for SF city dumps who sold it to me for $100 for both.. i had them recovered for $150 each.. but i know that its a lot cheaper in TJ Mexico... i prolly would have paid for a fraction of the cost i paid to do mine... and mine was even budget too....

The dashboard instrument pad (the part that cracks) from the dealer is about $420. That's just for the part, not installed. JFYI.

the car i got runs great but the interior was terrible . carpet was messed up..junk all over....dash board cracked like hell, chairs were just layered with dirty

and it has a nasty dent on the right side

Has anyone tried or heard anything about the full floor kits (carpet) for the Z from this site?:

The best deals i have been looking at is a company called Victoia British LTD. If you go to there web site they will send you a free catalog and they have almost everything for your Z. Also there is Motorsport auto which is zcarparts.com but there stuff is high and they charge you $5.00 just for a catalog.

the catalog is $5 initially..but if you read on...it says that you get $5 off your first purchase..so it's practically free

i know there are some places cheaper than zcarparts.com but they are also out of the US, which will be a grip to ship overseas
