well..

Ive gotta 280zx but the installation is the same...youve probably got the brackets lined up alrite. The simplest way to line em up is to put tape int he approx. areas of the holes on lens. Then mark exacly where it is on the tape with a marker. its just the depth thats tricky, or making it seem like the screws are too short. Try using the template the covers came with to set the depth. If the screws still dont reach Just move the brackets out a bit. It seems like the teplate they give you to set the depth of the brackets is a little too large. the screws will just barely catch the bracket, then tighten em down.. it was a bit tricky to get em to fit just right!
good luck!

heres what i did.. first i screwed the braclets to the headlight covers.. but didnt not peel off the sticky backying.. then i lined them up making sure that the mating surface would be in contackt with the bracket.. and if it didnt.. u pulled the bracket away from the screw hole part of the bracket.. the brackets are made from soft metal and can be bent or adjusted... then when i was happy with its location i pulled off the sticky backing and put the light covers back on with the brackets held on by the sticky backing.. then i removed the bracket screws from the headlight covers and drilled and screwed the brackets in place.. then put the headlight covers back on.. and they all lighed up...
