fender botom bolt area
on a zx with a little bit of rust, or should I say just enough to mess up the flange where the botum of the fender bolts on, how would I go about fixing it?
Here is my I dea I thought if I first mesured it, I could cut it off, and mig weld a piec of sheet metal in its place the same size of course.
I don't know if that is a good I dea or not.

I'm in the same situation. Your idea is exactly what I had in mind as well. Really, there shouldn't be a problem with thatm since it's simply re-doing what came from the factory. So, I say go for it, and let us know how it goes.
That would work just fine. And it's probably the best way to go about doing it (cost wise anyway) aside from getting a whole fender. I had a buddy of mie just weld a thin strip of sheet metal to the underside of the fender so it sat flush with the rusted peice. Then we drilled the holes through the new piece using the old piece (still attached) as a template. Then cut off the rusted peice (so it didn't spread)and welded a second piece of sheet metal behind the first. And welded them together as one solid strip and finished drilling holes through the second piece using the hole we drilled through the first strip. Worked llike a charm
) The only reason he went through all that trouble welding on two pieces was to make sure he got the holes lined up correctly. Other than that the size of the strip doesn't really matter except for visual reasons.
