Body Mods...Sporty?

I was messin around in PhotoShop to see what I could come up with for my car and my buddy suggested that he wanted to do a roll pan for the rear bumper on his car so I tried it out on mine, I like it. Rear roll pan, extended front spoiler, larger rims. What do you all think?

i dont know if the body is in great condition i wouldnt mess with it...I know most people do it if its rusted out so they go with something else rather then stock look...anyways, i do love the way it looks and I would say do it, but would you hack up a perfectly good back?
heres a few pics of one done nicely...hes on cardomain..so what im saying is, go for it if you dont mind doing it!

Yeah I think I am gonna try it, I like the look of the roll pan and bigger rims on my car. I do like the look of the roll pan on the yellow car.

I like the rear roll pan look as well. But trust me from experience, just be extra careful. My brother and I were pushing my Z backward into a parking spot. He's kind of a small guy so he was steering while I was pushing. Well no bumper back there and going slow as hell the driver side hit a post. Took out the taillight and put a nice crease in hatch and below the taillight I dont want to imagine what would've happened had the car actually been rear ended.

Man yeah that would suck, everything would be exposed...I will have to take that into account also, good point. But also I am prepared to make some sacrifices for good looks...may have to weld some steel behind the scenes to add some safety.

That'd be an ideal way of doing it. You cant base everything off of "what if's" but a little reinforcement would definitely go a long way toward personal safety.

here's the initial damage (taillight has been taped):

That was with the car barely at a roll hitting a wood post. I've kicked the car harder. If you look at the bottom of the damage you can see where the metal actually buckled down from just the light impact. Now imagine thats a 3500+lbs car slamming into your *** end

OUCH! Yeah thats no good man...I will definatly look things over and see how it can be made more safe. If I got hit in the rear, sure I would be upset at the damage but if I am wearing the rear end as a hat that would suck for sure.

Go with a roll pan but keep the bumper mounts and modify them to be bumper-etts. Like Shelby style. . . .

See that's why I like this site...GOOD IDEAS!!! I like the bumperett idea..kinda modern/vintage but still some safety there. I could make them hug flush against the roll pan so to speak.Hmmm I got some ideas now...thanx guys!

most car's front bumper (of course, trucks and suvs) will hit smack in the middle of your tail lights and totally miss your rear stock bumper anyway. congrats on owning a Z!

well if your sitten in it, then you can speed off after them, and kick there ***. but if you are not sitting in it than damn damn damn damn. you walk out to your car, and curs till your ears bleed.

hey rod, you got the same little bubbles in your hatch as i do, right where the emblem used to be!!!! those things seem to never go away, once there is a very little rust behind the weld. i even welded the holes

Those bubbles have been "removed" twice... and they still came back. Bastards.

Rod.

How would you reinforce the rear area if you shaved them down like that? and lets get a photoshop mockup of the bumperettes

What you think of bumperettes up front? I think the car would look good with the edge of the hood overhanging a little if you shaved the bumper back.
