Aritaspeed G-nose for the 280ZX (remake)
280ZForce's reproduction of the gnose has arrived.
He left the front turn signal spaces sealed up as I requested. Strangely, the air inlet in the middle and the headlights are also sealed up. :) Probably not too hard to cut those out. http://www.bleachgarage.com/temp/gnose01.jpg http://www.bleachgarage.com/temp/gnose02.jpg |
do it already!
|
looking good bleach!!! fg cuts kinda like wood, just take your time and it will come out very nice.
|
Oh snap. . .The ZXT is going to look hot. Looking forward to the completion of this
|
The last "g-nose" I saw I REALLY didnt like it, it looked WAY to much like a boat then a car, or a Z for that matter. That one looks neat, I cant wait to see it on the car
|
I see those off the car and for some reason I think it looks like a frog... I see one on the car and I wish I had another Z to work on :D Can't wait to see your Z finished!
|
... Ya it does look like a frog now that you mention it...
|
I'm going to have sex with your car. Just fyi.
|
blech rolling with the big z crowd now!!!

Gold and black is baller. You should paint yours this color. The sealed up headlight area is a perfect opportunity to mount some projectors. I see yours has the recesses for flush mount headlight covers. Are they reproducing those as well? |
looks great till u see that gap from the hood to the bumper. not a huge fan of that much gold. to much of a N.O saints fan look :104:
|
I do have projectors and I did think of mounting them to the fiberglass. I also figured that if I use a plate to hold the projectors in place of the sealed beams, then I can use the factory adjustment screws to fine tune the aim of the light beams. (unlike NismoPick who likes to blind truckers on his way to MSA) :)
I'm leaning towards cutting them out. Plus I may just barely get this painted and installed in 3 weeks. (Canby Datsun show) Not sure I'll have time to also do my headlight mods. The clear headlight covers are not available right now. Too few of these are even sold in the US to make it worth it even if all the G-nose owners bought a pair. http://www.bleachgarage.com/temp/g-nose280zxdropped.jpg Here is my old photoshop pic of the 280ZX lowered and the headlight covers on. I never really noticed the gap before. I see it a little in this pic. I know this comes as a big surprise, but I'm going to paint the airdam silver, not gold and black. :D |

Hey! I installed them the night before driving to MSA... no time to fine tune them. :unibrow: Looks good brother. Are there fiberglass tabs on the back or does it just wrap around the bumper frame like the MSA II bumper? |
It wraps around the back.
That and the large tabs by the headlight buckets are the only spots to bolt it down. Justin said it will rest on the factory metal bumper. I'll have to see how it does when I test fit it this week. |
dude, you need to go to home depot and get some vinyl siding for some tyte ground effects, and some kick ass vents and crap. wood screws will hold it on great! :D
that G-nose is gonna look hot! |
I got some work done tonight... what do you think?
https://www.zdriver.com/forums/attac...8&d=1235181770 |
IT'S BACK!!!!!!!
Thanks a lot. I just got over my nightmares about that thing. |
Man I gotta go snap some pictures of the local Z31 driving around with it's own custom made unfinished fiberglass kit.
|
Wow Bleach...looking forward to seeing that G-nose kit on your ZXT.
|
Sweet....

Whats the scoop on this Bleach? I know i wanted you to take a little longer but cmon. Its just a bumper. Slap it on there and lets see some pics. Painted or not!
Wow, I too am slightly amazed to see ya. Too bad the site has gone to hell. Most of its substance and the quality members that contributed have all but dissipated. Just a bunch of youth with nothing better to do than falk around, irritate people and pollute the internet with their mindless rants about nothing. Welcome back, skully. Not feeling the Gnose? I think with some subtle touches it could be ill'n. That is if bleach ever gets it on the car |
Good to see ya Apollo. No I was kidding its going to look awesome. As far as the gap goes, you remember how I closed my airdam to hood gap? Do the same and you will have like 1/8th of an inch gap inbetween the two and it will look amazing.
|
I'm not gonna let you see it. :D haha
Well, in my test fits the hood hit the airdam. I actually trimming it at an angle to clear. There should be very little to no gap at all. I had to tear the car down quite a bit just to test fit it on there. Headlight buckets, lower valance, bumper, and hood all came off. The bumper had some touchup bodywork done to it and trimming here and there along with cutting out the headlight holes and front air inlet. I got the final fit done and the mounting holes drilled. The piece was primered and the first layer of paint applied yesturday. I have massive pics and a video. Pics before the final trimming and paint. http://www.bleachgarage.com/temp/gnose05.jpg http://www.bleachgarage.com/temp/gnose06.jpg http://www.bleachgarage.com/temp/gnose07.jpg http://www.bleachgarage.com/temp/gnose08.jpg |
You suck ass.
|
Looks pretty good with that small gap. You said that g-nose is all fiberglass right?
|
Kinda makes me want to buy the Arita gnose selling locally. I think it would look gorgeous in a 2 tone paint scheme. What are your plans for color? Just going to match it or is the whole car getting sprayed?
Where are the after pics!?!?! Thats it, Im going to have to charge you for the previous use of the Apollo jacket for your failure to comply with requests for a decent photographic update. Its gunna cost you the gnose. I'll have my people pick it up in the morning. |

Glad to see this fit up really well with very minor work.
Did you release some air outta the bumper shocks, push them in some and put the bumper support back on for safety? Can't wait to see it painted and some better views of it. I found some other pics of 1 installed I forgot I had... Click to enlarge pics... http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c1...1981001_01.jpg http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c1...0074761_02.jpg |
What is that sposed to be a picture of?! I see beat lookin jalopy in the background behind the ghetto spray booth with a fake gnose but where is the Z?
|
That's not a spray booth. That's just my Power Wheels I'm fixing up that I hide behind a clear plastic tarp.
|
^^^ Pink Corvette? :D
Lookin good my twinna! |
twin huh? you two dont even have the same last name.... :(
also in the profile view, is that lower part of the front fascia overlapping the fender? porque? |
Yes it overlaps the fender and wraps around the back, just like the MSA fiberglass front does.
It bolts from the back into the fender lip. |

|
I've got good news... Bleach made it to the Canby Show with it painted! :icon_super:
I didn't go but I've already seen some first hand pics that were shared with me and it looks freakin beautiful. I'm sure he'll throw some pics up by tonight or tomorrow sometime. I don't wanna spoil his own reveal of it to you guys. I'm glad this g-nose I made fits up so nicely and looks awesome. |
Nice! I cheated and went to a another forum and checked it out. Very nice. He just needs to follow up with the black stripe and bring it up front to complete the two tone look. Very, very nice though. When, if ever do you think you will have headlight covers, 280Zforce?

When more of these get sold I'll consider it a task to be reckoned with. I think people just needed some reassurance that these 280zx g-nose were a quality piece and the real deal. And from what I hear, they fit up a lot better than the run of the mill MSA body kits and don't look like everyone else's of course :023: |
found pix of it!! the new paint is way nicer than the old!!!
i dont know how to make them come up here. http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f2...canby09116.jpg |
|
ooo man thats sick
|
blah! you're too fast for me. Ya, I deleted the old pics so nobody that was planning to go to Canby would accidentally find this thread before Canby :D

That may just lead me to paint the whole car again at once. I would prefer not to loose that original TURBO door decal |
I think it might have a cool effect if you continued the turbo sticker onto the bumper, it looks like it lines up with the indentation on the side almost perfectly... I think it's a job for someone with PS though lol
|
Bleach, is you Tokico setup installed in the above pictures or are they still cut springs?
