Darius 240z has a crazy supercharged V8 and single exhaust.

Google images is awesome and all, BUT it does not give me the personal touch of you guys giving me pointers. =-)

Im also wondering about the modifications/ worries around the pass side of the gas tank
Im working with a 78 280 z.

Should i worry about running a heat shield btween the tank, filler neck and exhaust piping?
OR should i just put it out the Drivers side?

What are the known issues with clearing the differential?
YEs i do in fact have the JTR manual but the exhaust section is short. =-)

So you want to run duals on a 280z with an L28 and a stock gas tank?

I was wondering mainly about clearance issues between shorty headers and the steering shaft, then wondering if i have to move or replace the gastank to run a driver and passener side exhaust.

Is this possible with a stock gas tank? Should i just have duals come out the drivers side factory notch?

Thanks.

and of course it's a V8 swap because this is where i posted it =-)

why not jack the car up and look. you will see the gas tank taking up space. seen a couple z's have dual exhaust coming out infront of the rear wheels

^^^ Easy there big guy.

The thing is, you are asking a question with so many variables that it's really hard to give a precise answer. V8 swaps are pretty custom, and fitting depends on what parts you use.

If you give a list of headers, pipes, mufflers, etc, we'd probably give a more clear answer.

If your running center dump shorty headers, you might as well just run center dump exhaust manifolds. If you relocate the T/C rods to the front and move your steering shaft over, you will be able to fit just about any block huger long tube headers. Also for dual exhaust you would be better off dumping it in front of the rear wheels.

You have to ask a specific question to get a specific answer. Also hybridz is about the number one place on the net for v8 s30's.

you give up that easy on us huh? How hard is it to jack up the car with either 2.5 or 3 inch and see how you can plumb it. Im guessing you did your own v8 swap so i assume you have some fab skills and like to see what you gotta get into........But if you want an easy answer Its going to be a hella lot easier for you if you have a fuel cell to run duals but if you wanna keep your stock tank gonna take some fab work to keep the gas tank getting to hot. This also depends where you wanna run duals...either you want them on the corners or right down the middle...How are we suppose to know that? But i guess Good bye since you give up on a website that wants to help but cant give every damn person an answer sorry.
