Is $300 a good price for a 350 motor with about 70k miles?

For a running 350, $300 is a very good price. I assume it comes complete? Find out the casting numbers on the cylinder heads, and the nuber on the block. What did it come out of originally? Did it come out of an auto or manual car?

Hello All, This is my first post! I am a curious future 350 swapper... Just picked up my first Z... That $300 350 sounds like a deal to me! If anyone has any pics of a 350 in a Z Please post the links... point me in the direction please. Thanks!

Talking 327 Chevy in a 1971 Datsun based 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO Replicar

I suggest you pick up the conversion manual from "Jags That Run" (JTR) that covers converting a Z car to a small block Chevy (SBC). http://www.jagsthatrun.com/Pages/Datsun_Z_V-8.html

Here is a picture of a 327 SBC in my Z car.

And a different view

Almost looks like the folks at Nissan engineered it that way.

Also, I suggest you stop over at Hybrid Z http://forums.hybridz.org/ where you will find many that are making or have made the conversion.

Good luck - it makes for an awesome conversion!

Nice! Very Sano Job!

Thanks for the links... I've got a sweet 325HP 396 Block/Crank & Rods and a set of 396 heads... casting number 3872702... the oval intake port, small chamber heads with low hours, Brodix guides and .600" lift Comp Cam springs up for sale in order to facilitate the new project for down the road... I'm not in a hurry but will be on the hunt for a good deal on a small block.

Thanks Again,
Rich
