Where to find 411 on car?
Dose anyone know a site to find out all the information on my 260Z engine?
HP, torque, compression ratio, bore, stroke, all the goodies.
And will a 280Z small block fit my 260Z engine?
1974 junkyard 260Z
100% Junk Will be restored to a new car by next year.

...or pick up a CD ROM of the factory manual. I got tired of getting outbid for the out-of-print '78 manuals on E-bay, so I bought the CD ROM from Courtesy Nissan:
http://www.courtesynissan.com/
It turns out it was the best option, anyway. I didn't have to pay upwards of $100 for a vintage book and now I have a searchable, cross-referenced, compact version. Best of all, I can print out what I need and take it under the car. If I douse the page with oil or something else really dumb I haven't ruined a rare and expensive book. I just print another copy of the page.
Anyway, the point is that a manual (Haynes or factory) will have those specs and if you're looking at doing a lot of work you absolutely must get one.
For the L28, the nominal specs are:
2753 cc, 168.0 cu in
86 mm bore
79 mm stroke
8.3:1 compression
Don't remember the torque and hp off hand (I don't put much belief in anything I don't see on a dyno for myself, anyway), but they're on your data plate, somewhere. Also, check out www.zhome.com for some good tech details. Hope this helps!

Actualy I got a copy of the out of print version for like $50 bucks from Marque Publishing, the only thing is it's the australian version, so the steering wheel is backwards, but i'ts new, and its very usefull.
http://www.marque.com.au/scripts/Boo...=datsun&Type=C
Thats the site, that should take you directly to the Datsun Page, if it doesn't work, just go to
http://www.marque.com.au
And scroll down to the Datsun link
You order by email, just email them the order book number for the book you want, and they'll respond within a few days.
Hope that was helpfull
