Hey all!
I like the new look of the site.
I'm still around and alive. It has been one helluva season with wicked highs and brutal lows all of which were $$$$$ for the Z.
I had a serious engine failure at a track event..two failures that weekend actually.
I had my ebrake cable snap on a hard launch, and ran the 1/4 with the ebrake jammed on for 3 runs before I realized what happend!... I could not figure out the slow runs?!!! 14.7 with 9psi... hehehe kinda funny now....hehe Car was much faster after i pulled the pins on the E brake... yeeesh... what a mess..
I also had a major engine failure at a lapping day...the very next day...at the same track...
I ended up buying a Jspec VG30ET engine and was currently breaking it in, and was running 12psi till I parked the car for the winter last weekend...um its fast now...
The 280 has been performing awsome.. I weighed it last week.. 2900lbs without me in it, and a half tank of gas..not too bad with all the gear I have on the car..full cage, bracing, interior huge wheels etc etc.., and I have been enjoying the intimidation factor of the car on the local ricer crowd..no takers this summer...???? not even one....
I also picked up a 240Z #684 from a long time friend whom I have been hounding for more than 10 years to sell me the car..(it has been sitting 90% complete for more than 10 years now)
230hp engine, 8 point cage, wild body job, wide tires, etc etc..except for a wiring job from hell...I have purchased an entire wireharness from a 1970 240, and have been installing it over the last few weeks...I had every single wire removed from the car..dash and all...it was that bad...!!! It too is almost complete..a few more details, and it is time for a safety..then plates...well except for the snow outside...It is time to put it away for the winter..I will finish it in spring.
