tires/wheels purchase help!
i have a 74.5 260z, stock suspension, stock wheels
i have tokico springs and tokico struts waiting to be installed, will lower the car ~1"
i am looking for some rims to go with the suspension when it is installed...16s or (preferably) 17s. what lug is the z? (know this has been asked a million times). Also, what size tire would fit the 17s adequately without biting the wheelwells or fender? what size tire would work nice with the 16s? and if you have a suggestion of nice looking wheels, please list those
thanks

Re: tires/wheels purchase help!
with the stock struts i believe u will be limited to approx. 7" wheel width. if you go to coilovers you can stuff up to 8.5" or even 9" wheels under stock fenders. the z is a 4 lug, bolt pattern 4x4.5" [same as the old L6 810/maxima, toy ota cressida and celica, and some others i don't know about]. as far as 17's, seems those would be a bit tight without coilovers. i'm running 17x8.5's with a 235/40/17 tire. the plus one conversion for the z is a 15x7" wheel and 25/60/15 tire. you can call tirerack for plus 2 [16"]or 3 [17"] conversion size info. i purchased my wheels from motorsport specialities in pa-and they were great.

Re: tires/wheels purchase help!
Here is a great wheel/tire calculator. Put in 195/70/14 as the stock tire size for the 240Z. (correct me if I'm wrong) and then put in 16 or 17 inch on the custom rim size and see what you need for a tire. Weather it will actually clear your suspension is your own problem, this is just for tire sizes! :-)
