T3 exhaust housing downpipe
Hey guys, i have a t3/4 turbo on my car. It utilizes the stock cast piece of junk downpipe. I plan on bending up one of my own. I need to set it up for external wastegates and stuff like that. I can source out EVERYTHING but the flange that bolts up to the turbo housing. Does anyone have any idea where to get a flange? Or for that matter can i just make one? Id rather not honestly.
Thanks all- Evan
Well while i have it apart i might as well........

The wastegate flange is 3/8" thick CNC-machined stainless steel. The pipe is 2.5" id mandrel-bent stainless steel, the O2 bung is stainless steel and the exhaust flange is 3-bolt mild steel. The price is $150 + shipping.
I am getting ready to have another batch made up so if you are interested, let me know ASAP.

Sorry Scottie----It has been some time since I have talked to you on your turbo do-dads-----but if my memory serves me right that downpipe is only acceptable in the 240-280Z models----not the ZX series correct--------I remember something about that when you first made your original DP--------Let me know cause If they are acceptable in the ZX series I might have to get me one-----!!!!!!!

How about a 3" down pipe for 300zxT's? First gen.You might find enough people interested to make it worthwhile if you could make one that fits well.I'd be interested. You'd probably get some interest in a 2.5" as well from na drivers and some turbo drivers.

Re: T3 exhaust housing downpipe
If I had a 1st-gen 300ZXT to make the measurements, get the prototype made and fitted, I would take it on. Someone would have to give me their car for a couple of days.
It is just not cost-effective to make 1 or 2 as I have to take a day off from work, drive 400 miles roundtrip, have the machinist spend all day and a lot of pipe bending until we got a properly fitting mock-up. Then, a jig has to be made to ensure a consistent fit and a CAD drawing has to done to CNC-machine the flange. No one in their right mind would want to pay those cost to have the first one made.
As for whether it is 2.5" or 3" depends on clearance and the kinds of bends required. If it has to have the short, sharp bends like the 280ZXT, 3" is difficult. As you know, the larger the pipe diameter, the more room you need to make bends.

Re: T3 exhaust housing downpipe
After my most recent (current actually) experience in getting them manufactured, I might just stop offering them. Too painful.
