Re: su's are in......
i cant believe i was looking the power i wanted in a stock fuel injection system. su's are wayyyy better. they sound the same as the fuel injection. my car still has the same powerband, but way stronger. i am impressed and dont know why Nissan went away from the carbs. they should have devised a smog system that would pass all the government crap today.
if you dsont have smog and you have a later 280 z or zx, i recommend the su's. ive actually noticed an increase in my fuel mileage. i drove about 100 miles today and i only filled up on $10. thats about 6 1/2-7 gallons down here in cali. All those miles and i was gunning it the entire time.
i need to learn how to tune them, because i several mean backfires when i shift and the rpms drop slightly. last night it lit up the parking lot i was in when it started to pop when i hammered the throttle. they are smooth though.

Re: su's are in......
I find it curious that u prefer the SU's to EFI. Although I've never had nor driven an early Z with EFI I have owned 2 Z's with SU's and I had to continuously adjust them I now have a run about 89 Corolla SX which is fuel injected and that's about all I love fuel injection not waiting till the engine is warm before she'll run right and no sticky choke connections. My 240z however had the original Hitachi Su's which were reconditioned and they were awesome in terms of drivability my 260z had the british crap and they were crap.
