RPM shut off
Hi,
I'm new and apologize if this has been brought up before - I've searched but couldn't find anything. I bought a 280z in October and it's been running okay- it needs a little work, but ran fine. I left the lights on one night and ended up jumping it in the dark (bad idea)- long story short, the cables got crossed and fried the stereo. From what I can tell, everything else works well (even some things that didn't used to work, now do) but the major problem is that now, whenever it hits about 3000-3500 rpm it completely shuts off. Does anybody know what might be causing this? It needs an oil change, but I doubt that would have any role in why it's doing this. Any help is greatly appreciated! :) |
Welcome to ZDriver!!! :038:
Usually when the jumper cables are crossed, it fries the ecu (computer). I'm surprised it runs at all. Start checking all the basics though: timing, spark plugs, AFM connection, vac hoses, ecu connections, etc. If nothing changes, then you might want to get your hands on another ecu. :D |
