Rear wheels on early Zs

Rear wheels on early Zs
I'm new to the site and am contemplating purchasing a z car. I've wanted one for years.
Why is it that almost every one I look at seems like the rear wheels are too far forward (as if they are not centered in the rear wheel-wells).
Is there an adjustment for that. It really bothers me.
Also, what's the difference between the 240z, 260z, and 280z?
