Post-head-gasket let down
After blowing the head gasket on my L28 a few weeks ago, i had the head serviced and machined and gasket replaced (of course). However, thinking i would get at least a slightly sweeter ride back from the mechanics, i instead found that my 280 lacked the acceleration it once provided. I have no technical expertise to explain the experience, but in layman's terms, it feels as if at high revs the engine is disconnected from the wheels (excuse the completely incompetent language). I put my foot down and in the low end, the acceleration of the vehicle seems reasonably proportional to the revs provided by the engine, however near 4.5 - 5 thousand rpm the wheels feel as if they are no longer being driven while the engine sounds like it could still give more speed. I know the explanation is somewhat lacking but if anyone can decipher my babble could they please post a better explanation so that someone could explain the problem. Or if you can both undertsand what i'm saying and understand the problem can you please try to enlighten me as to solutions if there are any.
