please help me
I swapped out my clutch master and slave cylinder about a week ago. And i haven't been able to get my car to go into gear since. When the car is off i can shift it no problem, but when the car is running the gears grind when trying to shift. I've gone through about 2 gallons of DOT 3 brake fluid trying to bleed the system. The worked fine before i changed they master cylinder. Any advice would be great. I really need this car to work, and i don't have money to tow it to the shop. Thank you

I climbed underneath my dash and checked it out. It doesn't look like the pedal has enough engagment. It's still about 1/2 inch from where the orginal was. The part i put on there is from breakware. does anybody have any experience with them? any input would be helpful.

if it comes down to it you may have to do a pressure bleed. they hook it up to a pneumatic machine and bleed out the system. it sounds like your slave isn't pushing the clutch fork far enough to disengage the clutch. if it's an aftermarket setup you may just have to modify the rod in the firewall like wolf66 was saying. good luck

I also had the same problems when I changed out my master cylinder. If you still have the old master cylinder, you can go ahead and take the rod right off of the old one and swap it into the new one. It's an easy swap, and it'll give you the travel you need to be able to drive the car.
