I have used a pertronix on my Zcar for over 100,000 miles and 7 years on a Rebello engine. It's flawless. It does was says... set the timing and you're done. As for a better product... I didn't see the point in changing.

I haev a petronix as well. Basically all it does is eliminate points. Reasliticall your supposed to set your points but with the ignitor you don't have too. Also another set up to consider since we are on the topic of ignitions the later 280Z ignition with the black boxes also work well.
Make sure your ignition doesn't have slop in it. What happens over time is the bushings wear out and there is slop
