okay now i'll buy a datsun!!! SOMEONE SELL ME 1!
Okay i've decided to get a Datsun. I live in California so i need a cali datsun um the price needs to be about 1000 or less (ya i know but i'm a kid) and it has to work manual transmission would be great i don't care what color but the body has to be so so (dents okay but not huge ones) interior um u know the basics ac maybe, radio hopefully, airbags doesn't really matter, the seats um maybe a 4 seater or 2 but i really want one of those datsuns with those sunroof thingies on the 2 sides, and the seats have to be in so so conditions(rips okay aslong as their not big) okay!!

What year are you looking for? IF you want fast I strongly sugest looking for a turbo. Get the last build year so you have all the latest changes and improvements for that model. Like '83 280ZX or '89 300ZX. A grand will get you not the pretiest but a decent car.

Ummm.. those sunroof thingies on the 2 sides are generally referred to as T-Tops. And since you're young I would seriously consider going with a non turbo due to insurance costs, and they're still fast enough. But whichever year and type you choose, good luck on the hunt.

All the z's you'll be able to purchase for around a $1000 will most asuredly not have air bags, but your on the right track by reading and posting in this forum, you'll learn alot here, just keep it up.

Ya, for $1000 I don't think you can get any 300ZX.
Look for the 1980-83 280ZX. That is the body style that will sometimes have T-tops. The 4-passenger models are referred to as a 2+2. Yes, you can get a 2+2 and T-tops on the same car. (like mine) The 2+2 does look different from the outside too, so keep that in mind. I have a 2+2 and its nice if you have a family. The 2-seater is the "proper" design by Nissan and I think it looks much better.
The 280ZX also was available in 1979, but none of those have the T-tops option.

but seriously, learn as much as you can about the models you are interested in before going to buy one, so you know what you are getting.
Also i reccomend going to your local zed workshop and have a talk to them there, they may point out some details you haven't thought of...
Take someone that knows at least about sportscars or a zed enthusiest if possible. i'm sure someone on herer wouldnt mind meeting up with you to check out a car.
