I bought a 1978 280 Z 2+2 for $350. It has a straight body; it is rusted in places, but only surface rust as far as I know. It was originally a California car. The floor pans and frame rails seem to be in good condtion. It has a blown head gasket and the oil has water in it, so I am expecting to have to put a new engine in it. I haven't got they money right now to start the project, nor the time since I am moving to college in two days, but I just thought I'd let everyone here know. I've been reading these boards for a couple of weeks and am very proud to be a Z owner. Anyway, here are some pics. Tell me what you think/give advice to someone who has never restored a car :-D. there is no reason to replace the engine if it is just a blown head gasket. How long has the car been in this condition?
