new to Z
Hi. My name is Mark i am a 17 year old kid who drives a ricced out nissan altima at the moment. (eck!) at the current moment i am stripping my car back to stock to sell so i can buy my ver own Z car. i have one prob. tho. i know hardly anything about the Z. i like the 1st body style the best, and hate carburation. so i think that leaves me with 73-78... i think. i dont know much about the differences between the 240, 260, and 280. well except for the .2 of displacement. a turbo would be sweet but i think the only years it was offered was in the bodystyle im not too thrilled about. (unless i want to go custom but that takes $$) i am pretty sure the same goes for a t-top. i live in phoenix AZ so rust is not a problem for me. i would absolutly love it if someone would tell be where to find the info on the stock zs of this time period. IE: HP, torque, 1/4 mile, 0-60, skidpad raitings...etc. thanks in advance.

Re: new to Z
maybe your best bet would be to find an early Z car which already has the Turbo engine in it...I am sure there are a few around. 240z and 260z practically look the same, main difference is that the 240z is lighter.

Re: new to Z
The 1/4 mile stock for an 1982 ZXT a/t is 15.3. I ran a 15.41 when it was bone stock. I think the 5 speed models were a bit slower because they don't have a stock bov. They are somewhere in the neighborhood of a 15.6 or so. It's easy to hit 14's though. I pretty much have an intake, exhaust, and coil as power mods and I ran a 14.72 so I'm sure you'll be happy with a Z even if it's the t-top model. A turbo swap into the first chassis would make for one fast screamer though.
