Pretty sure that screaching sound is from a clogged muffler or cat converter although the 260s I don't think had them.

On a 240Z with SUs you don't really need headers. They will only add more noise to your exhaust.

My suggestion would be to take off the factory exhaust manifold (and intake) and replace the gasket on the side of the head. Re-install both then have a professional install a 2.25" exahust pipe and new muffler.
call it good

Its round port. Weren't all Z car heads square port up until 1977???

so for a 240Z you need a square port header.

i forgot i swapped motors. lol, thats why they are round port. which i believe means i have a p79, which kinda blows for the round ports, but seems to flow pretty perfectly matched to the turbo head so MEH! what the downside of mixing the port shape with the header shape? i could maybe see using the round port on the square head being a tiny bit turbulant, but i dont think thered be a problem using a square on a circle.... idk. inputs damnit

The downside to missmatching the square and round is... blown exhaust gaskets.

Round head with square exhaust sometimes works.
Round header on the 'larger' square head port does not ever work.

then you have to ask yourself, which exahust gasket do you use?
