A couple of relatively inexpensive and easy things you could do would be to replace the stock air intake with a K&N filter and to upgrade to a more free flowing exhaust. That should give you a good place to start and will give you some improvement that you will feel..

well really easy and bolt on mods go like this. k and n type filter element, ditch the stock air box, 89 90 240SX tb, bigger exhaust piping at least 2.75 inches, striaght threw muffler, new or adjust your pop off valve and get a boost contoller so you can turn it up!! be care not to exceed like 8 to 10# of boost w/o an ic
