My first Z

Just bought a 1978 280z!!

Some Problems with it..... (Its 30 yrs old hehe)
1. Rear shocks (found parts and redoing at end of week)
2. Brakes... Not sure if it has power brakes if it does they are not working well.
3. A/C you can feel the AC kick on but no cold Air.
4. Paint Looks ok for now but It is not the original color. Paint is cracking but still bright.
5. Weather striping.
6. Radio does not work
7. Ignition switch.
8. Dash board Cracks (fairly common from what I hear)

Paid $1500.00
Runs STRONG

Will post pics as soon as I take some

sounds about right. lol. welcome to the site! awsome place, nto a whole lot of S30 guys here but plenty of s130 so you'll be all right. weather striping sucks i think on these cars, im in desperate need of all seals every where as well. A/C make sure the compressor is all there and try to fill it, if it works for a bit but then is not cold any more, you have a leak. good luck finding it haha. these dashboards crack like dry mud. aand teh brakes are only vacumme assisted. they are not "power". jsut replace the vacumme line and re-bleed the brakes very thouroughly.

Well you didn't mention rust...definitely a good thing! If she runs strong and don't have any rust on the frame rails, floor pans etc., I'd say you got a great deal for $1500.

Also you can buy a dash cover for like $90 that looks just like stock. I believe a stock dash costs $1200-$1300....

use photobucket since you can re-size them and tehy automatically will give you an image code to copy and paste. its simple as pie. just can take a few minutes to upload them to photobucket.

All in all not bad. Body work and floor pans will cost the most to fix up.
