I am going to order the msa turbo downpipe, It says it has the proper hook up for the oxygen sensor. I cant tell by the description or picture if it has the bung for the pipe that runs to the egr valve.

Is this a question or just a statement??

FYI... if you are talking about this one (http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/15-6037) it's for S30's only. You'll have to chop & modify it to fit your S130 engine bay.

And no, it does not have a port for the egr.

It was a question, I am swapping into a 78z. So then what would you do with the pipe that should run to the egr?

Ah... question marks (?) usually come at the end of question sentences.

I shall move this to the S30 section then...

Disconnect it / remove it.

Ok, I went to a muffler shop today, he said he could weld in a egr port on the msa downpipe. Once I get the motor back together and running, I need to get the vehicle reregistered. In Arizona, for my car that involves a sniffer up the tailpipe, and a visual inspection. Initially I will cap off the egr, if I cant pass emissions because of high nox readings. I will have him weld in a egr port.

Just leave the EGR actuator on the manifold (or just re-install it for emissions check)... the tech will never know the difference.

And does AZ have tiered emission levels for different years? In Utah, 81+ has a 220ppm HC max, but each year before that is increased. I know that my 76 280zt could have 600ppm HC, so I ran it catless as the L28ET will run cleaner than that when the timing is retarded.

Thats what I will do for the egr, as you suggest. Yes, I do believe it is a tiered system for 1968-1995 model cars. I think the 96 or newer cars, because of the obd ports they do a visual, and check to see if you have any check engine lights only.

Yes you are correct. '96 and newer cars, they have a thing, they plug into the computer. It will tell the machine pass or fail. So if your check engine light isn't on. You have a very great chance of passing.

Wildman, you need a good running motor? Or do you know of anyone looking for a motor? I have mine listed in the Phoenix craigslist, its a zx motor even though my car is a 78. Check it out if you get a chance. Just so you know its my listing, my name is Gary.
