Mobil 1, Royal Purple, Redline, or Elf
Mobil 1, Royal Purple, Redline, or Elf
What do you guys think of these oils.
I am currently running 10w30 Mobil 1, but I have been told by many people to use royal purple, redline or elf oil in my engine.
Royal purple and redline is available in 10w30 but I can only find Elf in 5w40.. I don't know if I should use that weight oil in my motor. My engine has a cam and few upgrades but nothing substantial.
Also, I want to replace the transmission and differential oils. I am going to use redline MT90 for the transmission, and redline 75w90 for the differential. If you guys have any suggestions please let me know.
Thanks,
Craig

mobil 1 10 30 synthetic FTMFW on engine oils. nothin else for me thank you! and i gots a new one for you. a 50/50 mix of BG synchroshift II with redline mt90!!!!
its a very popular mix on performance cars. helps with synchronization on fast shifts and the redline is great lube. it perfect! thats just tranny though, i doubt you need to do that for the rear diff. just the redline you suggested should work for the diff.

no use in putting expensive oil on a car thats pretty much stock. if you where running a turbo or a stroker motor then RP would be more then enough to properly cool and lube your parts, but i had RP gear oil in my diff and trans and you can litteraly feel the difference.
i like mobil 1 a lot, but i havn't tried the others. when i went from castrol to mobil 1, i picked up almost 10 lbs. of pressure. as for gear oil, where do you get royal purple? i can't find it around here, and i need something in my gears quick! the tranny AND the diff are both making some noise...
im not much of a fan of the RP. and its easy to find. like my surefire/car quest has it.
also i do agree with hoov as far as unless your pushing numbers where the tranny could fail you dont need anythign other than more mobil 1 gear lube/oil whatever. like a 260 with just triples, not necessary, up the compressioon and modify the ignition system and tune the cars then when you are pushing aruond 200whp or more id say use the mixture and brands i suggested.

How many bottles will I need of each? I was going to buy 3L of redline because I assumed 3 would be enough.
