Indicators
Hi guys this has probably been asked before but last night my indicators stopped flashing completely they just stay on. I had the same problem with my 75 260z but it would only stop flashing on one side when a globe had blown. This stops flashing on both sides and all globes seem to be working fine.
The car is a 72 240z I'll try searching the forums for previous answers. Any suggestions would be appreciated though as I had to get it road worthy in the next couple of days.

Re: Indicators
Globes are the same as Bulbs as in light bulbs. I tried searching the site u can search for old posts by clicking up the top of the site next to Zparts and Zdriver.com I found info your problem might be a flasher unit as the hazard one is seperate have a search and see for yourself.
Any help anyone????

Re: Indicators
i had the same problems. friend who is an electrics whiz suggested the following; ensure that bulbs are all correct # & wattage [refer to nissan/haynes/chilton repair manual], bulb sockets are in good condition and try a bit of dilectric grease in all. once this is done, and if the problem still exists, change the 30 year old flasher! my signals work great now.
hope this helps!

Re: Indicators
I had the same thing happen. Just change the flasher for your indicators. It sits near the fuse box under the dash. You can use the one that your hazards are using as they r the same if you just want to get around temporarily. I also noticed that when the hazard light switch is disconnected the indicators stop working as they must be wired through this somehow, so you could also check the contacts on that switch if the flasher does'nt resolve the prob.

Re: Indicators
DING DING DING, Hopped under my dash, took a look at my silinoids for the turn signals, and the emergency lights, reseated all the connections, and they work fine now, I just gotta get some Zip Ties to make sure they dont come loose anymore. Thanks guys. you rock!

Re: Indicators
I think i am having the same problem. My whole passenger side of indicators (including the one in the tach) don't work when i try to indicate to the left, but when i turn on the alarm all the indicators flash like they should, except the one in the tach, which does not work no matter what. Could this light be blown, stopping the whole left side from working, or could it be the flasher unit? thanks for the help.

Re: Indicators
I never actually solved my problem. The last owner had updated the indicator flasher unit to a newer one I think it was a hella brand. Anyway I played with it and now it works must have been loose or something if it fails again I'll take more note I'd say it's the flasher unit in your case but.
I wish I had a better wiring diagram for these cars the Haynes manual is hopeless.

Re: Indicators
yeah, the haynes manual is ridiculus. Is the flasher unit by the right leg of the passenger (rhd)? Looks like a little silve box with H, F and S plugs. I took this off to have a look at and now my parking brake light doesn't work, or either of the indicators. I didn't even touch it really, just unscrewed it from the footwell. Does this mean i have some really dodgy wiring?
