I need some second opinions

[IMG][/IMG]What do you guys think, is this as bad as it looks? This is the only visable burnt spot on the board and its working fine with the stimulator. Its never actually worked on the the car though. It burnt before i could cranck it.
Thanks guys. Any help is great

reflow

Fire? what ever got the board that hot would have also fractured nearby solder joints, take an iron and flux and reheat each connection, get them to look nice and shiny, but don't linger, a couple seconds is all you need, if you don't have flux, get some fine solder and use it to wet the joints, most solder contains flux. That will at least eliminate the possibility of a bad solder joint. With all that heat, nearby IC's could be toast. If it never worked in a car, but works on a board tester, than I'd guess your "simulator" isn't covering full board function, but maybe testing for shorts or something. That corner is pretty bad, Id say look for a new board, I'm guessing that's your ECU ?

I would go to the Megasquirt forum and ask there. Maybe it can be saved. You really need to find the cause or risk a repeat event.

There are places that can repair the board for you, but it is usually more expensive than replacing it unless it is something real simple like a diode or resistor.

Just out of curiosity, what type of place could repair it? Like a computer repair shop maybe?
