I need help
Hey guys, I am returning to the fold of "Z" owners after a sad and deeply shameful trip into the world of sensible drivers, Honda Accord and a SHO Taurus. My other car is a 944, but I am afraid to work on that damn thing. I street raced "Z"s while I was stationed in Yokosaka, Japan, so I am no stranger to the junkyard. My deal is, I am finally dropping out of society (self-employment in small town N.C.) and want to set up a strong, yet not obvious street racer so I can enjoy my quasi-retirement with an occassional thrashing of some unsuspecting V-8 driving good-ole boys. Oh, the joy of it!!!! Where can I find a reputable shop in N.C. I have been reading your posts and checking out different sites. I need local assistance. Helllllllllllp!!!

omurray - Kyle has a great site here but I think you will want to try HybridZ because they specialize in Z cars with different powertrains. I think you will pick up a wealth of information over there ans well as get a lot of help.

There are some guys from your neck of the woods at HybridZ, maybe they can answer the question as to the shop you are looking for.
Your swap can be done quite easily. If you use a 240Z, 260Z, 280Z, and a Chevy powertrain, you will be able to do this swap yourself if you buy the JTR (Jags That Run) Datsun V8Z conversion manual. All the steps are listed and written in an easy to understand format. I highly recommend the book. I have been a fortunate passenger in the author's car and all I can tell you is that I was bitten by the V8Z bug that very day! To say that it was an impressive experience is to highly understate it!!!

Thanks, I am actually part of their group also. I have printed almost 300 pages of info and went out and searched for "How to modify your Datsun/ Nissan OHC" I think I typed the title wrong, but I know it when I see it. I had that book when I lived in Japan. I accidentally sold it with the car :-(

you would be speaking of norm, and he is somewhat of a god in the Z world. he practically knows almost all there is to know about Zs and what makes the go faster. i dont think i have talked to anyone that has gone threw more then he has to see what goes faster and makes his car move. someone you definetly want to talk to you can usually find him at www.Zcar.com
