The Information, Helpfullness and Advice on this Site is outstanding!!
I'm looking forward to visiting here alot in the coming months.
A little Background : I'll be getting my licence back ( after a 5 yr. no driving sentance)
in Feb. And I just purcahsed my 3rd ZX in preparation for that glorious day.
My 1st I gave back to the dealer cuz I had no need of it , my second I bought for $400 in hopes of a ground up Resto a year in to my sentance , but it was too tempting so I had to get rid of it
so as not to risk an Actual prison stay just due to driving a car, lol.
And now I have my 3rd , an '81 280ZX , it was sitting on the side of the road with a little sign in the
window that said $450 and ph# heh , I bough it site un seen , the guy barely got the key in the ignition before I was handing him the cash.
The excitement of grabing 1st , 2nd, and 3rd , was so wonderfull after 4yrs of walking and mass transit, then the fear of getting caught trying to get it to my house 3 blocks away was a little un-nerving.
Anyway's the car is in desparate need of some TLC (body mostly, well so far anyway) and I can't wait to digout the toolbox and start fixin' her up. So I'll be seein ya's around

 

yeah its great, this is one of the few places you can get a REAL answer on tech questions on the z-car

i WISH (!!!) there was a place like this for my cherokee! I've found a couple of "messager boards", but nobody knowledgable... in other words, nobody that can answer my gnarly questions

I totally agree I check this site every night to see what is going on. To get new Ideas, and to see if I can help anyone with the little knowledge I have. Keep the ideas and help coming this site rocks.

Careful Rip if you don't get caught you'll blow the clutch disc. I tried to squeal 4th just once to often and blew the clutch right ought. Lucky for me I could walk home but bad for the wife, we didn't get to drive it to FLA to see the folks as I was on my way home to pick her up and hit the highway when it happened. I got a 2+2 same year.

 

I actully fried the clutch on my first 1st ZX , Downshifting from 4th to 3rd getting off the highway, 10 mi. from nowhere. one of the only things i don't like about hydrolic clutch systems.

 

I agree this is a good site for board posts. I have posted on other boards for Z cars with little response.

Steve, try www.pirate4x4.com. I have had success there for questions about my Toyota Landcruiser. Although some of the members are not as mature as the people that post here.
