hey what are these doodads for?

the two white boxes in this picture, what are they?

Mine have been opened and both of them jumped with a piece of wire...

Those are your main power fuses. They are suppose to be jumped with wire. I had to replace mine cause they would short after a while and the car would die. If you still have the covers use them.

Alrighty then, i can't find this thing just fwd of the fusable links in my Haynes, any idea what it used to do?
