good bye
Well...I was hoping to get some info. and help on this website...but as it is, I have received no help. I'll join another group of Z enthusiast. Thanks for all your non-help.
I did find out I have 1 of maybe 5 Kaminari 280 ZX...complete and running, but I found out through another z website...hence my good bye to you all...
GOOD BYE!

Re: Good Bye
"Can anybody give me a heads-up on anything I should know about my Z?" Or is this question a little too vauge?
I think if you actually want some info, ask a specific question. Don't expect people to write a bunch of articles on your car when you don't even know what you want to know. If you need help tuning the carbs, then just ask that.
Besides, you only posted once. Sometimes a post gets passed by and people dont see it. Or you can go to another board, but if you ask the same thing, you probably won't get very good response there either.
I would say on your 280ZX, you'll want to replace all the bushings with urethane bushings from Motorsport auto. The sway bar's rubber bushings are probably shot, and the new bushings in the rear end will help keep things tight and quiet. Besides that, if the car is in good shape you'll just have to fix what is broken.

I'm sure that your name that's consistent of 1s and 0s in binary will be greatly missed. I, for one, have shed many tears over this thread, and I don't know if I'll ever be able to forgive you for walking out of our lives!
I'm holding a going away party for you tonight, there'll be tons of booze and hot naked women. All Z owners welcome, bring your own rubbers

Re: good bye
well that is one "interesting" car. I am sorry I did not see your
original post perhaps you should have been more descriptive, maybe, starting of by showing the pick of your car you would have wound everyone up. I would have personally liked to know more about it (ie the 6 carb setup). Anyway I am happy you have found another zed home. May be you can drop us a line when you have gathered more information
BTW
The Kaminari shape was supposed to be one of the only aftermarket body kits actually approved by Albrecht Goertz the man who started the zed ball rolling. some people say he actually penned the zed car. I think he originally designed the Toyota 3000gt for nissan and then left for Toyota before the birth of the Zed.

Re: good bye
I think that I have to agree with 280ZROCK on this one. This site doesn't really have all that much information. I have posted a lot of questions and have had to response. There isn't really that much here and there is a lot of wasted space. Take for instance the thread that soared well over forty posts about the guy who was going to make his Z look like a honda. What a waste of time. www.hybridz.org is a much better site for information. People there actually want to make their cars fast and know something about it. Don't get on 280ZROCK for what he said, because it has a lot of merit.

Re: good bye
on the contrarie (or however you spell it) if you describe your problem pretty thoroughly and actualy inform people about your car you get the best answers. Any question i asked they answered and it actualy SOLVED all of my problems!!
now if you put "my engine sounds funny" well hell that could be 100 000 problems , describe yourself and be thankfull even if you dont get help, people still try their best to answer, and if this site wasnt helpfull i dont know how come we got shitload of people chekcing up every day (me for one) for something new. dunt diss the site or the people if you screwed up on the post
Can any of you give me "heads-up" on anything I should know about this Z ?? ===> thats the reason your leaving this site ?? what the hell do u wana know about how to tune it ?? or just information about car (like its got a inline 6, its got t-tops, 4 tires, steering wheel, guages)???
well tahts my opinion good luck finding ur answers on other websites
wooohooo done done finaly done

"www.hybridz.org is a much better site for information. People there actually want to make their cars fast and know something about it. Don't get on 280ZROCK for what he said, because it has a lot of merit. "
I'm on hybridz, member 740something. I just don't respect people that blab things like "OH, you guys suck because you didn't answer my posts". I put up stock leftovers of my car for sale/giveaways, and no one responded to me. Does that mean I should go badmouth a message board simply because I didn't get what I wanted?
Perhaps a 280zx owner that knows the answer wasn't around or didn't catch the thread - big deal. This isn't the only board around, the whole concept of the internet is vast resources of information - and 280zrock seems to not understand that concept. But he sure did get a responce with "i'm leaving because your site sucks," granted it wasn't a good set of responces. People like that usually aren't missed.

Re: good bye
You guys totally missed the point I was trying to make with my post, but reinforces what I was saying. You guys waste a lot of time with posts that don't mean anything, like this one for instance. This is a waste of my time, and everyone else's who reads it. There are many posts on this site that don't get answered and the ones that do get the replies of people who don't really know a whole lot. Maybe, some of you guys could devote more of your time learning about cars and less time badmouthing others. Lets just leave this post at that and not waste anymore time here. Thanks.

Jeremy,
I can't believe people expect so much from a free site. Everyone that posts here is a enthusiast. They aren't forced to answer your thread. And a lot of the times the thread you may post has already been answered before. With my 4 years of watching Z forums out there I can't tell you how many times I've seen the same question being asked. We do have a search function.
Jeremy if you care that much about it, why don't you step up and I'll give you responsibilities to answer and research every unanswered post. Shoot me a e-mail at Yuichi@Zdriver.com and give me your number and I'll give you a call.
We can talk about how you can make a difference instead of actually complaining about it, just step up. Kyle and I and all the moderators spend 3 hard years on the site, and to have someone say that its a waste of space we don't need people here like that. Hybridz.org and zcar.com are great sites. Everyone with a Z site out there isn't making any money more like losing. Anyways shoot me a e-mail with your number and we'll go from there
-Have you had your daily dose of Vitamin Z?-

Yuichi makes a good point, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that has helped me out- and believe me people have helped out. Re: good bye
I like this site. I visit the other sites too, but this is the only site I see that has regular updates on it's project cars, and has articles dealing with the local and latest happenings of Z cars. It's like a mini magazine, only it changes daily. The other sites have more of a Q&A structure with little else. This site has more depth over the others.

Re: good bye
Geez...I was just saying bye...It's incredible how quickly you all jump on the bandwagon when someone leaves. This is the most responces I've gotten...and all because I said bye ? If my question was vague...why didn't some of you let me know? like you did now ??? The idea to have this web site (I hope) is to get the Z Lovers together to share information, and most of all...to ATTRACT! more people that are interested in the Z cars. I may not be a motor genius, and I probably don't know a hell of alot about this cars, so I try to ask for help, and most of you jump on me. Bottom line guys...I HAVE A 1983 KAMINARI 280ZX - only 5 left "in the world" - If I was a Z lover like many of you say...I would have jumped at the chance to help someone with such a classic, and unique car. I will post the pictures on your site...that way [you guys can see it] grow up people...

Re: good bye
hehehe......
he is sitting here complaining about a small thing. why didnt he post over and over and over until somebody answered his question instead of whining about it. maybe we all honestly didnt see his post. and who cares if you miay have 1 of the 5 rarest cars left in the world. if the owner is a dingass then that seems to turn people away.
so that brings me back to my last question.
So why havent you left yet?

Re: good bye
Its amazing, isnt it? Special treatment for having one of 5 Kaminari 280ZXs... sorry 280Z rock, no worship for you on that one.
Have you guys all seen Darius' Supercharged, NOS, LT1 240Z? WOW he deserves special treatment... I haven't met one guy who knows him nor can find out any info on his car. Gotta love those videos he makes tho! Search "Video-Datsun" on KaZaA and you'll see!

Re: good bye
I too have searched long and hard for this Mysterious Darius.
all to no avail. My adventures have however uncovered some interesting clues Some people say he is just a legend while others say he's just a regular guy who hasn't enough power.
I say he's "Compensating" for something. he he he
