Good Body Shop in Salt Lake?

Hey all;

I'm a new owner of a '78 280Z named Sylvia. She is currently staying at a friend's apartment in Salt Lake, until I can fly out there and drive her home to Wyoming (I didn't have a garage when I got her, and didn't want to subject her to being parked unprotected for a month). Before I take her home, however, I want to get some body work done. See, I was playing a little too rough with her and put a decent dent in the driver's-side fender, right between the headlight shroud and the wheelwell. So, I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on a good place to get the work done in Salt Lake. She's still quite driveable, so I could take her somewhere in ID, WY or CO, but I figure Salt Lake is my best bet right now. Any ideas? I'll post pics of Sylvia when I see her again, sometime in late June.

There's quite a few body shops here in SLC... it depends on how much you want to spend. Wasatch Body Shop is for the elite cars (BMW, Mercedes, Ferrari, Porsche). They will do a fantastic job, and charge you plenty for it. I took my 318ti to John Chevalier Collision Center in West Bountiful for frame repair. They offered the best price around. Ph# 801-936-1780. Ed is the guy who helped me.

Thanks for the recommendation, Nismo. Sylvia's at John Chevalier now. Mike at the shop called me today and said he couldn't fix the fender, and couldn't find a replacement. I went online tonight and found a fiberglass fender at Baddogparts for $140, so I'm thinking of replacing both fenders with glass. What do y'all think? Who else has good prices on fenders? I also found Zbarn.com, who have used steel fenders in great shape for $125 each, but I figure shipping will be more for steel than fiberglass, due to the weight difference.

Interstate Auto Body Parts is the place. Absolute best prices in UT.

Also... have you checked the Pick & Pull on 33rd & 6th West?

Thanks for the advice. I called Interstate Auto Body, but they didn't have any, and I found a pair on Ebay for a pretty good price ($275 for glass, brand new) so I bought those and had them sent to John Chevalier. The fenders showed up last Friday afternoon. I called there this afternoon and Ed told me none of his guys were willing to mount the fenders, since apparently some fitting is required - mounting holes need to be drilled, and he didn't specify anything else other than "custom fitting." So, unfortunately, my car has now been there 3 weeks with no work done. So, does anyone know of a good shop in SLC that specializes in classic restoration or does a lot of work on 70's vintage cars? I just don't think John Chevalier is going to cut it.
