Flat top SU adjustment
Z owners,
Need advise on how to adjust these boat anchor SU's.
It's the flat dome type, running too rich and fouling up the plugs very fast. Please help, much appreciated

I think you have stumbled upon the answer in your question; use them as boat anchors!! Personally if you want to use SU carbs, I recommend Z therapy (www.ztherapy.com) SU carbs. He does a great job ob these, I own a pair and they are wonderful.

You could get a synchrotester or whatever those things are called from MSA for around 40. That'll help you get your carbs set straight. Or if you have to, the old Datsun manual I have for my 510 says to turn it all the way and back out 3 turns.... although I wouldn't recommend that... it's sorta as a last ditch effort.

theres only 2 screws i think that are for tuning, they are around 1.5cm wide,and need a flat head, thats all i remember from mine, i got my flat tops running pretty good, but when i installed the SU's, big power increase, better driving smoothness and everything just 200% better...
but yer if you want to keep the boat anchors, keep them its your car..
