Elecric Fan...????
Hey, I need some advice on the Z. Should I run an electrical fan? I love the way they sound without that annoying fan noise at idle, and have heard that it really rev's up quicker without the mech fan. Is this true? I also want one to make i/c piping a lot easier, instead of tryin to squeeze 3 tubes through one rad. support hole I could run one across the engine bay. I was also wondering what size would be needed. I have a small flexalite 15" fan but i don't know the cfm numbers. I am in houston so 100+ days aren't uncommon and frequent, but i dont have a/c (yet). My engine setup is a 82 zxt w/ the stock 77 radiator, but rodded and cleaned. So basically, would I be better off keeping the mechanical fan and spend my $100 on other things or should I bite the bullet and get the fan.. Thanks for the advice.
ps: summit racing has a Perma-Cool 14" fan rated at 2100 - 2950 CFM for only $80.. Anyone running this one?

Re: Elecric Fan...????
I am planning an electric fan myself. I like the idea of cleaning up the engine compartment and also believe it will help me take engine temp down in between runs on the track. I am considering a pusher style fan (mounted in front of the radiator instead of the engine side) just for looks. I live in the NW so I dont have many 100+ days, but I do push it really hard. It will also save on water pump wear. If you do not have a fan shroud on there now, any decent sized electric will be an improvement. They have really easy to adapt kits out there now, with all the harness stuff and thermal sensors that install really easy to the radiator.

Re: Elecric Fan...????
I had a 15 inch electric fan on my 78. It worked great sounded great. But I must not have mounted it wrong because it wore a hole in my radiator. I went back to mechanical until I can find a way to mount the electric without the ties going thru the radiator.
Any suggestions on where to get bolt on mount would be appreciated. Trying to manufacture some of my own right now.
