e88 vs n42

e88 vs n42
well, my e88 heads have a crack in one, and bad valves/seats in the other. I could spend $300+ on getting the good e88 worked on (valve job, new seats), or I could pull an n42 head that I saw today at pnp. It'd be a little cheaper if I got the n42, but would my car run the same or different as it did before? I'd check the valves to make sure they looked good before I grabbed the head obviously, but I'm just curious if it'd be a bad idea to bolt a 280Z head onto my 240Z block.

The n42 head is better because it has larger valves but you will still have a used head. I would go with the n42 and rebuild it but the reason you started this was to save money. For a little more you could get the 280 block too and just hone and re-ring it. I still think your 240 block is warped anyway. Your going to need more hp to keep up with me and Zack! If you buy the complete engine you can take it home and do a compression check. If it's good you can put your carbs on it and be driving that beatch for a while! I have a 30% off coupon for PnP good till 10-15. I could mail it tomorrow.

Fast240Z i have a p 90 that is just the head sitting in the shop. it will need cam sprins valves and risers. like i said its just the head. if you want it you could give my littel girl a few buck for her brain cancer trust fund. im not using the head for any thing and it looks sweet. one of the members in zextreme hade it in his gurage and was down sizing and put it in the stock pile. let me know.
