I have been looking at a lot of archives about the N47 head and it appears that there is a diff between the Max and Z N47 heads. My question is a two parter, is there a diff, if so, how can I tell which is which with the head installed?

 

Well, forget the is there a difference part. I have found that out. Can anyone tell me how to tell the diff with head installed?

 

No, but the last time I checked they had one of those Maximas at A&H in Ferndale. The high compression head was only put on 2.4l early eighties Maximas. Or maybe you already knew that.

I used a boroscope today and confirmed that my head is a Z n47. I really want the high compression when using the flat top's. I WANNA GO HARD-CORE RACING...
