choke cable replacement

hey guys, I'm about to get my Z running again, so I've got all of these posts I've got to do to fix whatever little problems I have. I broke my choke cables a while ago, and I need to replace them. I had originally gone down to the hardware store and bought some cabling that was the same size, but yet wasn't nearly as durable as the original cabling that was in the Z. Any ideas of what type of wire/cabling to use on my choke cables? I remember reading somewhere about some type of choke cable replacement, but I can't remember where that was, so if any one has any ideas, please let me know!

You can use piano wire (.055 diameter). One source would be www.mcmastercarr

are you serious? that's awesome! I was told to use solid steel inner cable from ZTherapy. I'll have to check out to see if I could find some piano wire now.

240z Choke Cable Fix

Thanks for the tip. I used the 0.055 inch music wire and it worked perfectly. Documented here: Datsun 240 Z rebuild: Reparing the Choke Cable.
